YOKOHAMA, Japan, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Avant! Corporation (Nasdaq: AVNT) today announced that Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. Semiconductor Company (Nasdaq: SANYY), one of the world's consumer electronics giants, has purchased additional SinglePass design automation tools for their current and next generation System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. The multi-million dollar contract enables Sanyo Electric with IC development at 0.18 and 0.13-micron process geometries.

Significant Milkyway-based, SinglePass flow capabilities including Apollo-II, for very deep-submicron (VDSM) place-and-route; Saturn for VDSM timing and logic optimization; Mars-Rail for power, IR-drop, and EM driven analysis and optimization; and Star-RCXT for parasitic extraction and analysis are now available for Sanyo's design teams. Additionally, existing SinglePass capabilities at Sanyo including Hercules-II for layout verification and Star-Sim for high-performance, high-capacity circuit simulation are included. With Milkyway as the backbone for the SinglePass flow, powerful techniques for incremental design are enabled by sharing of algorithms and data across applications. Milkyway and the SinglePass flow combine to enable the industry's most advanced solution for reducing time-to-market.
